In May 2021, 100 Women Who Care Albany held a successful virtual meeting. At this meeting we had three worthy charities that were nominated and presented via pre-recorded video. Our members viewed the videos and websites of the nominated charities and then voted on their choice for this quarter’s giving. The charities nominated where:
- Literacy Volumnteers of Rensselaer County – Teaching people to read, write and speak English, empoering students to be advocates for themselves, and educating the larger community about literacy issues.
- Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York – Provides volunteer-delivered mentorship in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work-readiness to inspire and prepare young people to succeed.
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region – Provides a home away from home — free of charge — for families with children facing serious medical issues.
Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York was the chosen charity. They will be using the funds bridge the gap left by COVID-19 in their critical programs.
100 Women Who Care Albany is grateful that we have been able to meet virtually and continue to support local non-profits that are doing exceptional work in the communities of the Capital Region. We encourage everyone to continue supporting our local non-profits.
Our next meeting will be August 12, 2021. We hope that this meeting will be in person. We continue to welcome new members. We look forward to finally getting to see our new and current members in person. Learn more here.
