At the August 100 Women Who Care Albany meeting, we were treated to a great turn out – both in person and on the Zoom call. During this meeting, we heard from three incredible Capital District non-profits:
Congratulations to our August recipient, Wizard’s Wardrobe – where reading is magic! Wizard’s Wardrobe is an after school tutoring program. Students are young readers living in Albany’s South End. They all come to the program reading below grade level. Some students are eager to read, some are emerging as readers, and many are struggling. ALL are capable of learning to read. ALL are given the confidence to practice and improve reading skills.
On September 15, the checks were delivered to Wizard’s Wardrobe totally $22,400. We also informed Chief Operating Officer, Diane Hester Brown that they will be receiving the additional $5000 from the Richard M. Schulze Fund!

Thanks to all our members for their continued participation. New members are always welcome, learn more here. Consider joining us at our next meeting on November 9, 2023.
