Hot Days, Hot Charities

In the midst of our summer hot days, our meeting on August 8, 2018 provided us with three hot (as in awesome) charities to learn about and we also welcomed new members and guests.

We had the pleasure of hearing from Mary Partridge-Brown and Roberta Sandler, co-directors of Grassroot Givers, our May recipient. They shared with us how much our funds are helping them as they transition to reestablishing a new location.

These three charities were highlighted:

  • Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar – Inspiring and empowering promising, underserved students to succeed in high school, college and life.
  • Girls on the Run – Dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
  •  Unity House With passion and integrity, Unity House embraces the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights. They work together to open the doors of access and opportunity for everyone, particularly those in greatest need.

Congratulations to Unity House, the August recipient of our collective giving! Our funds will be targeted to assist the needs of client’s whose newborn and infants have little access to necessary items such as furniture, clothing, diapers, formula, etc.

100 Women Who Care Albany continues to grow and make a difference for Capital District charities.  Each member’s $100 contribution makes a huge impact on so many lives and speaks volumes about the value of this group to our community. We hope you will join us in making a difference in the Capital District.

Mark your calendar for our next meeting, November 8th, 2018.
