At the November 2020 virtual meeting of 100 Women Who Care Albany, RISSE was selected as the latest quarterly recipient. On December 28, 2020, we delivered checks totalling $19,100 of our collective giving to this worthy organization. This is the largest collective giving for our group to date.
RISSE (Refugee and Immigration Services of Emmaus) focuses on equiping refugees and recent immigrants to build sustainable, independent lives by offering language and literacy instruction, as well as support with life skills and integration into U.S. culture and community. The Pine hills based organiztion will be using the donations to continue to support their programs given the challenges that COVID-19 has presented with increased expenses (due to social distancing) and reduced funding so our funding.
Thanks to all our 100 Women Who Care Albany members who continue to make our “online meetings” a huge success. What a wonderful ending to a not so wonderful year!
